Published: 13-03-2013 | Author: Remy van Elst | Text only version of this article

❗ This post is over eight years old. It may no longer be up to date. Opinions may have changed.

This little nginx config snippet shows you how to catch all error codes and show a single unified error page.

Consider sponsoring me on Github. It means the world to me if you show your appreciation and you'll help pay the server costs.

You can also sponsor me by getting a Digital Ocean VPS. With this referral link you'll get $100 credit for 60 days.

This will respond to all HTTP error codes and return the error.html page from the site root folder.

error_page 400 401 402 403 404 405 406 407 408 409 410 411 412 413 414 415 416 417 418 420 422 423 424 426 428 429 431 444 449 450 451 500 501 502 503 504 505 506 507 508 509 510 511 /error.html;
location  /error.html {

}

Official documentation on error page. Sadly, there is no wildcard for this.
