Lots of people want to download Youtube video's to their computer.
Some people use PwnYoutube, Kickyoutube, and some other use Vixy or Videodownloader.

But when your on linux you don't need all that! Linux does it automaticly for you when you watch the video!.

First, fire up Firefox. Then open up your file manager, like Nautilus, Konqueror, Dolphin, Thunar or something else you use.

In firefox, go to Youtube. I'll use an example video that I made on my old school. That's this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5b3JgNb9uU

Let the video load, and very important: Do Not Close The Tab or Firefox! When the video is loaded, switch tou your file manager and go to "/tmp".

Look for a file with a name like this: FlashxYsBU1. That's how my video was called. Yours probably will be named other. On my Linux Mint 7 box I could directly see it because of the thumbnail function from nautilus. Dolphin has that to.

Copy that file to your home directory (~) and open it and make sure it is the good video by watching it.

If it it fully copied then you are done. If you are going to take it to a windows box then you'll need to rename it to something which ends on .flv (OR .MP4 IF YOU'VE WATCHED A HIGH QUALITY VIDEO!!!)

Note, this is tested and working on Ubuntu/Linux Mint, and also tested on Mandriva 2009.1, but it porbably will work on any linux with firefox and a /tmp folder.
